ECFA effect: Taiwan spare parts "attack" the mainland market

After signing the ECFA on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the export of Taiwan's automotive parts and components to the mainland will reduce tariffs since 2011, making it a big profit for Taiwanese companies to attack the mainland auto parts market.

According to reports, in order to assist Taiwanese companies in expanding their exports to the mainland market, the Taiwan Foreign Trade Association’s Special Team “2010 Automotive Parts and Accessories Outreach to the Mainland” led 17 auto parts makers to Beijing and Shanghai.

Today, the team members visited Beiqi Foton Motor, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd., and a tour of the city's Huancheng International Auto Parts City to inspect the main types of circulating parts in the market. Many media interviews were held at the fair and they also attracted Great Wall Motor Corporation and the China Automotive Industry Corporation International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation. The former is a Beijing-based franchise for SUVs, and the latter is the first company to operate automotive parts and components in China. In the company of import and export business, both companies are quite interested in the members' products and communicate with the members one by one.
