The high energy value of fats and fats makes it the most common energy supplier in feed ingredients. With the advent of industrial by-products, various fat raw materials have entered the feed industry, making it particularly important for producers and nutritionists to understand how to properly assess the nutritional value and quality of lipids. Refining and cracking in industrial processes can affect the chemical structure of lipids, resulting in changes in metabolic energy and sensitivity to oxidation. 1 Difference between different batches of the same grease
First of all, it is indisputable that the energy value of the same grease may also vary greatly.
The table below shows 2 samples of lard from a feed mill in Guangdong. The test results show that the difference in energy value between the two samples is about 3%-4% (220-320Kcal/kg).

Therefore, when the feed mill chooses oil, it should evaluate its quality to avoid the instability of feed quality due to the large difference in energy value.
2 The difference in energy value between different oils and fats is very large.
The previous conclusion is that the same kind of grease, different batches of different manufacturers may have a large difference in energy value, then between different oils and fats?
The answer is that the energy difference is more significant. For example, the following table shows samples of soybean oil and lard from a feed mill in Anhui. The test results show that the difference in energy between the two samples is about 8%-16% (700-1260Kcal/kg).
