This year, China's rare earth imports have broken 10,000 tons for environmental protection.

From January to October this year, China imported a total of 10,381 tons of rare earth minerals, which exceeded 10,000 tons for the first time, an increase of 144% year-on-year.

On the morning of December 28, Xu Xu, chairman of the Minmetals Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, said at the International Rare Earths Symposium in 2010 that China had imported 10,381 tons of rare earth minerals from January to October this year, which exceeded 10,000 tons for the first time, an increase of 144% year-on-year.

He said that environmental issues have become a bottleneck in the development of rare earths in China. China's reduction of rare earth production is due to environmental issues. According to the data he provided at the seminar, the nation's rare earth industry emits 13 billion cubic meters of exhaust gas and 25 million tons of waste water. "It can be seen that the long-term use of rare earth has caused serious damage to me."

He suggested that China's rare earth smelting and separation technology is relatively advanced, and Chinese companies are willing to cooperate with other countries in the world to jointly develop rare earth resources outside China.
