U.S. olefin production increased by 2.36% in the third quarter

According to the latest data from the American Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA), US olefin production in the third quarter increased compared to the second quarter, with an average increase of approximately 2.36%. Among them, ethylene production increased by 6.2% from the second quarter to 13.8 billion pounds (6.26 million tons), but the performance of butadiene and propylene was relatively weak, and the production of butadiene increased by approximately 0.78% from the previous quarter to 910 million pounds. The previous quarter only increased 0.15% to 7.94 billion pounds.

NPRA pointed out that although slower than the second quarter, compared to the same period last year, the US olefin production continued to grow strongly in the third quarter, with ethylene production up 6%, butadiene production up 25.6%, and propylene production year-on-year. An increase of 2.37%.
