According to the Japanese media Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun on the 27th, Japanese electronics maker Fujikura has developed a Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) module that can use indoor light to generate electricity. According to reports, the DSSC module is approximately the same size as a business card, and its output is approximately 1.1mW in an indoor environment using LED lighting (in an environment with a brightness of 1,000 lux) as long as it is irradiated in 1,000 lux environment for more than 3 hours per day. In time, there is no need to replace the battery.
It is reported that Fujikura plans to ship samples of the above-mentioned DSSC module products on April 1 this year (2013). The monthly production volume is planned to be gradually expanded from the current 1,000.
