Pneumatic diaphragm pump installation and use

The diameter of the suction pipe of the pneumatic diaphragm pump shall not be smaller than the diameter of the inlet port of the pump. For conveying high viscosity fluid, the diameter of the suction pipe is preferably larger than the inlet diameter of the pump. The suction piping at the inlet end must be durable and free from wrinkles to create a high vacuum. The diameter of the outlet piping must be at least equal to the outlet diameter or slightly larger to reduce friction losses. All piping and fittings must be sealed and not leaking, otherwise the pump's self-priming capability will be reduced.

Pneumatic diaphragm pump installation: If you ignore the installation details, careful planning, research and selection for a long time may still lead to poor pumping effect and affect the service life of the pump.

Location: Noise, safety, and other logic factors often require a location where the equipment should be installed. Parallel installations with conflicting requirements may result in blockages in the area of ​​use and affect the installation of other pumps.

Use: First of all, the position of the pneumatic diaphragm pump must be easy to use, which will facilitate the daily inspection and commissioning of maintenance personnel.

Air supply: Each pneumatic diaphragm pump should have a vent tube and the vent tube should provide enough air to achieve the desired pumping flow. The air pressure is determined by different pumping requirements, but not more than 7 BAR.

Installation height: Please fully consider the self-priming ability of the pneumatic diaphragm pump to avoid the problem of reduced self-priming.

Piping: The pump position can only be finalized until each possible pipeline problem has been considered.

The best installation should be at the junction of the shortest and most straight inlet and outlet piping. Additional bends and fittings should be avoided as much as possible. The pump body should be able to support all lines independently. Moreover, the piping should be arranged in order to avoid stress on the pump piping.

A movable hose can be installed to eliminate the stress generated by the natural reciprocating motion of the pump. To connect the pump body to a fixed base, placing a cushion between the pump body and the base will help reduce pump vibration.
