4 key points affecting the steam quality of electric steam generators

1. Electric Steam Generator Load: When the load on the steam generator rises—meaning more steam passes through the unit space within an hour—the speed at which steam rises in the boiler drum accelerates. This increased energy can lift smaller, finely dispersed droplets from the water surface, degrading steam quality. Particularly during fluctuations or overloading, even if the salt concentration in the boiler water isn’t high, it can lead to severe cases of steam and water coexistence. 2. Electric Steam Generator Pressure: A sudden drop in pressure causes steam of the same mass to expand, increasing its volume and the amount of steam moving through a given space. These minuscule water droplets become more susceptible to being carried along, affecting steam quality. 3. Boiler Water Concentration: Boiling water in the steam generator contains numerous bubbles. As these bubbles rise and burst at the water's surface, they release tiny, scattered droplets. Under normal conditions, when the concentration of the boiler water is low and the system’s water level, load, and pressure remain stable, these droplets aren't easily swept up by the steam in large amounts. Due to their weight, they tend to fall back into the water after splashing out. However, as evaporation continues, the salt concentration in the boiler water increases, boosting surface tension and creating thick foam layers on the water's surface. With higher water concentrations, the bubble layers thicken, reducing the available space in the drum. Bursting bubbles release droplets that are easily carried by ascending steam, worsening steam quality. In extreme cases, this leads to simultaneous steam and water surges, carrying significant amounts of boiler water. 4. Electric Steam Generator Water Level: If the water level is too high, the steam space in the drum diminishes, increasing the volume of steam passing through the unit space and accelerating the steam flow rate. Additionally, the space for water droplets to separate freely decreases, causing droplets to be carried along with the steam, further degrading steam quality. Fluctuations in the water level can also result in steam momentarily carrying water. In conclusion, managing these factors—load, pressure, water concentration, and water level—is crucial for maintaining optimal steam generator performance. Proper monitoring and adjustments can prevent issues like steam-water coexistence and ensure consistent steam quality.
