The annual output of the plastic pipe market in 2015 is expected to reach 13.5 million tons.

Wang Zhanjie, secretary general of China Plastic Pipeline Association, announced at the conference that the total output of China's plastic pipes has increased from 8.4 million tons in 2010 to 13 million tons in 2014, with an average annual growth rate of 11.53%. Production in 2015 is expected to reach 13.5 million tons.

Plastic pipes are used in agriculture, construction, municipal water supply and drainage in the country. Government projects already approved by the State Council will have a positive impact on the plastics pipeline industry. A total of 800 billion yuan will be invested in 57 major water conservancy projects, of which 27 have started construction. In addition, the government is still studying water conservancy construction in the central and western regions and building drinking water projects for 60 million residents. The 16 pilot cities will use plastic pipes to build rainwater storage system projects. The government is committed to revolutionizing urban underground pipelines within five years and has announced 10 pilot cities. It will invest more than 35 billion yuan and build a pipeline of nearly 400 kilometers.

Davidovski, who is also chairman of the Plastic Tube Conference Association, said: "Plastic pipes are buried underground, but the benefits are clearly visible." To illustrate how plastic pipes benefit the domestic society, he cited a local case: "Shanghai has improved the lives of 24 million residents through plastic pipes. This is a good example. Shanghai made a decision more than ten years ago, replacing it with plastic pipes. The iron pipe not only solves the problem of water leakage, but also improves the water quality."

Despite the slowdown in the growth of the entire industry, companies that focus on high quality and discover new markets will usher in development, Wang Zhanjie said. "We not only need to increase production, but also improve quality," he added, adding more than 2,000 plastic pipe patents in recent years.
