Huangshi Zhonghai Heat Exchanger Project will be put into operation in June

According to the Huangshi Daily, Wu Yuanzhong is just four months away from realizing his long-awaited dream.

From Wu Yuanzhong’s office, heading southwest through Huangjing Mountain, about 10 kilometers away, lies the China Sea Heat Exchanger project in the Baoshan Industrial Park of the Golden Mountain New District. Construction is currently in full swing, with three large-scale standard factory buildings already topped off and standing proudly along the road. These structures are a striking contrast to the otherwise empty industrial park, signaling the arrival of a new era for the company.

This project represents Wu Yuanzhong’s vision of building the best factory and producing top-quality products. On the afternoon of March 7, after completing the registration for foreign trade operations, Wu rushed to the construction site to personally inspect the progress as daylight faded.

“Watching this project grow feels like watching your own child,” Wu said. Since the start of construction at the end of August last year, the project has moved forward smoothly, surpassing even Wu’s expectations. With the current pace, it is expected to be fully operational before the end of June this year.

In 2005, Wu Yuanzhong chose to establish Hubei Daye Zhonghai Heat Exchanger Co., Ltd. within a development zone, focusing on the production of heat exchanger equipment. The products are widely used in industries such as shipping, power generation, diesel engines, and compressors. In 2008, the company began collaborating with the renowned German Man Group to develop advanced technologies. As one of the world's top 500 companies, the Man Group pioneered the first commercial diesel engine and leads globally in marine engine sales.

“The Germans are extremely meticulous—almost to the point of being ruthless when it comes to machinery manufacturing,” Wu recalled. The process involved rigorous inspections, qualification checks, R&D evaluations, technical testing, product testing, and quality assessments, which took over four years. Finally, in April 2012, the high-power low-speed diesel air cooler produced by Zhonghai was officially recognized. This made Zhonghai the first heat exchanger manufacturer in mainland China to receive technical approval from the German Man Group.

“This recognition means that China Sea has reached the top standards in the field of high-power low-speed diesel air coolers in China,” Wu stated. Additionally, the certification opened up broader overseas markets for the company. As a result, the existing production base could no longer meet the company’s future needs. China Sea needed more space to grow!

This time, Wu set his sights on Shannan again. The project site was completed in early 2012, and the land was leveled by June, with construction officially starting in August. By the end of the Spring Festival in 2013, three out of the four standard factory buildings were nearly complete, each covering over 6,000 square meters. In other words, the scale of any single new production base exceeds the entire 3,500-square-meter workshop of the existing China Sea facility.

As soon as the Spring Festival ended, Fan Jin, the representative of Party A from Zhonghai Company, arrived on the 8th day of the lunar new year to urge the construction team to accelerate progress. “The entire 400-mu Baoshan Industrial Park is ours, with 100 mu allocated to us. We plan to finish electrical installation and commission production equipment within the next four months. By the end of June, we will be the first company to go live in the Baoshan Industrial Park,” Fan said.

“Last year, China Sea’s output value exceeded 100 million yuan for the first time. With the new Shannan production base, this year’s output is expected to surpass 150 million yuan. Over the next three to five years, we aim to reach over 360 million yuan in output value, positioning ourselves as a leader in our industry segment.” In Wu Yuanzhong’s mind, the next dream is already taking shape.
