Global plastic film demand growth rate of 4% in the next five years

[Hisashi plastic (Reuters) - According to the latest report of a plastic and composite materials testing company Smithers Rapra showed global demand for plastic films in the next five years, at an annual rate of 4% growth.
The report also said that the global demand for plastic film in 2016 was 61.3 million tons, and it is predicted that by 2021, the figure will reach 73.3 million tons.
Smithers Rapra said that the future development of the global plastic film market will depend on the trend of social and economic development, affecting new materials and packaging technologies from various aspects of economic impact, social methods and demographic changes, and ultimately contribute to new areas of the end market.
According to Philip Drachman, author of the report, two important trends in sustainability and light weight will continue to drive the plastic film market to work, and customers will also reduce packaging based on environmental issues and lifestyle changes.
In 2015, the largest plastic film market was automatic packaging film, with sales reaching 20 million tons. The second largest was plastic bags. The total sales volume of bags was 19.7 million tons, but in the next five years, due to some bans and taxation policies, The amount of data growth will be at a lower level.
