At the National Equipment Industry Work Conference held in Nanning, Guangxi, Su Bo, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the remarkable growth of China's equipment manufacturing sector. He stated that the industry's output value surpassed 20 trillion yuan in 2023, making up over one-third of the global total and securing China's position as the world's leading producer.
Su Bo emphasized that China now leads in the production of most major equipment products. In 2023 alone, the country produced 120 million kilowatts of power generation equipment, accounting for 60% of the global market. Shipbuilding capacity reached 45.34 million deadweight tons, representing 41% of the world’s total. Automobile production hit 22.117 million units, or 25% of global output, while machine tool output stood at 959,000 units, making up 38% of the global share.
These figures reflect the strength and scale of China's industrial base, driven by continuous innovation and investment in advanced manufacturing technologies. The government continues to support the sector through policy reforms and strategic planning to maintain its competitive edge in the global market. With such strong performance, China is well-positioned to further expand its influence in the international equipment manufacturing landscape.
