Now, the Ishikawa Watanabe Laboratory at the University of Tokyo in Japan is working on the development of an ultimate all-round baseball robot. Previously, the team has been working on developing robots that can participate in baseball.
In the past few years, they have developed a series of robots that can perform tasks independently, such as single-action robots that can independently pitch, hit or run.

Each robot only completes a single task in a baseball game. For example, the pitching robot uses humanoid fingers and uses fingers to control the accuracy of the pitching, and the accuracy of the hitting area can reach 90%.
The hitting robot can track the sphere by means of a high-speed stereo vision system, and adjust the position of the hit to accurately hit the baseball. The bipedal running robot uses visual feedback to adjust the pace and maintain balance in real time. The last two ball-type robotic arms can track the ball at high speed and catch the ball at 10 times per second.
The team developed a tracking system that enables pan and tilt to achieve high-speed visual tracking and feedback of tracking targets, enabling the robot to perform a range of high-quality baseball moves.
Currently, the team has uploaded a video of the robot and the University of Tokyo baseball player game to the YouTube website. It is clear from the video that the robot team has obvious advantages.
