Chongqing: Livestock and poultry "turn waste into treasure" with economic benefits of 23 billion

Among the existing agricultural land in Chongqing, there are only 80 million mu of cultivated land, garden land, woodland, grassland, etc. that can be used to absorb manure. How to promote the treatment of livestock and poultry breeding waste, improve the production and living environment and soil fertility of rural residents, and then manage agricultural non-point source pollution? Chongqing's response is to promote the green treatment and resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure.

"Dung is just a resource that is misplaced, our pig manure is 'scented'!" Yin Ping, general manager of Chongqing Riquan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., proudly introduced to reporters that since the company adopts a circular ecological breeding model, More than 10 million yuan was "nuggets" in the manure. Like this company, last year, 46 million tons of livestock and poultry manure in Chongqing turned into waste, generating economic benefits of about 23 billion yuan.

Chongqing is a national demonstration area for modern animal husbandry, and there are no regulations for animal epidemic areas. The city's annual production of live pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry is about 20 million heads, 740,000 heads, 3.29 million heads and 250 million heads respectively. It produces about 58.71 million tons of manure per year, which is equivalent to 23 million live pigs. In the past, due to the characteristics of "low, small, scattered" in some farms, the degree of intensification was low, the utilization of livestock manure resources was low, and there was a phenomenon of direct discharge and leakage of manure.

"The resource utilization of livestock and poultry waste is not high, which brings new challenges to the total breeding and environmental capacity, the combination of animal husbandry and planting, waste management and resource utilization, non-point source pollution, and ecological protection of the Yangtze River." Chongqing Liu Baoguo, deputy director of the Municipal Agriculture Commission, said, “Last year, Chongqing completed the closing and relocation of 1093 breeding farms and the equivalent remediation of 810,000 live pigs, increasing the effective treatment and comprehensive utilization of livestock and poultry manure.”

At present, among the existing agricultural land in Chongqing, there are only 80 million mu of cultivated land, garden land, woodland, grassland, etc. that can be used to absorb manure. How to promote the treatment of livestock and poultry breeding waste, improve the production and living environment and soil fertility of rural residents, and then control agricultural non-point source pollution?

Chongqing's response strategy is to promote the green treatment and resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure.

Take Riquan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. as an example. This company is the largest high-tech, high-start, high-standard leading pig breeding enterprise in Southwest China. It sells 150,000 live pigs annually, and has 6,000 sows in stock. It produces about 289,000 tons of manure every year.

How to deal with these feces?

When the reporter came to the farm of Riquan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. with questions, he found that the pig house here is a building, the upper floor is a "bedroom" for pigs, and the downstairs is an organic fertilizer production workshop, separated by a fully leaky floor.

According to reports, Riquan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. has adopted an ex-situ fermentation bed model with a high leak and a dry fecal disposal model for the treatment of manure. Among them, the ectopic fermentation bed mode, that is, the pig manure and urine fall through the leaky board and fall into the lower layer of bran and other bedding for digestion and degradation; the dry manure removal mode is that the solid part of the manure is separated into organic after separation The fertilizer and liquid parts are pumped to a high-level storage tank for storage and fermentation. The biogas produced is used to generate electricity. The biogas slurry is then irrigated through the pipe network or transport truck to the surrounding fruit mulberry, grape, blueberry and other bases.

Yin Pingan calculated an account for the reporter: only 5000 acres of land transferred by the company consume this organic fertilizer, and the price of 600 yuan to 800 yuan per ton of organic fertilizer can save the company more than 10 million yuan per year.

"Last year, Chongqing's waste from waste turned into treasure generated economic revenue of 23 billion yuan." Wang Yongkang, deputy head of the Chongqing Municipal Animal Husbandry Technology Extension Station, introduced that in recent years, in the treatment and resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure, Chongqing Gradual application and promotion of "solid manure aerobic composting", "off-site fermentation bed", "specialized energy utilization of manure" and other technical models, the city has established 4,560 biogas projects, 1.5869 million rural biogas farmers, forming pigs- The mode of ecological circular agriculture such as marsh-vegetable, pig-marsh-fruit, rice-fish-loach.

Environmentally friendly lubricants, also known as environmentally acceptable lubricants, must have the following characteristics: first, it has good lubrication performance, can reduce environmental pollution by saving energy; Second, the product itself is harmless to the environment and has little impact; Third, this product can be biodegradable, and can be decomposed into simple CO2 and water, which can be absorbed by the environment without any harm.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines environmentally friendly lubricants as ultimately biodegradable, low toxic and non-bioaccumulative.
